Napa Valley is the most important part of the Wine Country, a world renowned center of wine making. It is comprised of several valleys such as Sonoma Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley and others. Grape plantations spread over thousands acres of the diverse, fertile soil. It is home to more than 400 vineyards where famous Californian wines are made. Almost 90% of all vintage wines in the USA are produced in the California Wine Country.
But it's not just about wine. There are more than 800 species of fruits and vegetables are grown at the Napa Valley farms. They make oils, juices, jams, cheeses, sauces, vinegars, mustards and other agricultural products.
The landscape of Napa Valley resembles Bordeaux province of France or Tuscan of Italy. Moreover, the climate of Napa Valley is very close to a Mediterranean climate. No wonder, California Cabernet Sauvignon has no equals in the world; as in fact have other California wines - Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Zinfandel, Merlot, Muscat, and Madera, - you name it. No words describing wines can substitute their tasting. During our Napa Valley degustation tour you will have that opportunity.
Out of 400 vineyards we can select the most interesting and reputable which offer wine degustation as well as snacks - cheeses, garlic sauces and other delicacies.
One of the vineyards is reachable via funicular. During the same tour we will visit geyser were you can have a bath in hot mineral springs.
You must be 21 years old (legal age for drinking alcohol in the USA) in order to be admitted to a wine tasting. This law is strictly enforced here in the United States, so don't be surprised when at a wine degustation you are asked for a photo ID (driver's license, passport) proving you are of a legal age. It might seem a little annoying, but even if you look as 40 years old you might be asked for a document.
Napa Valley's climate creates an ideal combination of sunny, warm and dry days followed by cool evenings. That allows grapes to ripen slowly and evenly contributing to the quality of the California wines . Here is the current weather forecast for Napa Valley:
